Hunter is a passionate engineer that is involved in every aspect of robotic development from conceptualization to creation. He is well versed in C++, Java, XML, ROS, C, and Python. He enjoys long modeling sessions in Solid Edge and SolidWorks creating complex robotic systems using his trusty SpaceMouse. When it comes to fabricating the designs, he is capable of using the latest manufacturing equipment to get the job done from CNC machines to 3D-printing. The smell of solder indicates another long electronic prototyping session at his lab bench. Then his favorite part is the culmination of each robotic component into a novel robotic design.

My position as a Robotics Engineer Intern at Leidos has enabled me to work on the DARPA Squad-X project which entailed responsibility for a $20,000+ UAV including, but not limited to, piloting, sensor payload bay design and construction, maintenance, and flight logs. I also worked on Android Development, simultaneous localization and mapping, CAD, and live-testing debugging.
SLAM, DARPA, UGV, UAV, CAD, Android SDK/NDKVicon Camera Operator for various projects including the study of aerodynamic properties of butterflies and 3D vision navigation of a nano-quad. Designed and fabricated an artificial butterfly capable of a fluid flapping motion through the implementation of a crank lever mechanism.
Presented a paper on the Design and Development of an Artificial Butterfly at the AIAA Region II Student Conference.
3D Vision, Bio-Design, Locomotion Methods, Vicon IRI completed independent research on the development of a sub 7.5cm UAV. The research includes characterization of flight in low Reynolds number conditions and the subsequent design of a novel UAV. It involved the development of a custom flight controller, airframe, and tilt-rotor control methods.
The research project won 1st at ASEF, 2nd at NARSEF, and 2nd at ISWEEEP in the category of Engineering. It also won 1st at the Gorgas Scholarship Program, Boeing Best of Show and the NASA Award of Excellence at ASEF, and 9 other various special awards throughout the competitions, along with being invited to present at the Young Professional and Student Technical Poster Session for the AIAA Greater Huntsville Section.
I also enjoying coding and CADing on my own personal computer outfitted with all the nerd goodies.
BrandingI am currently a TA for ENG101 which is an introductory course for Matlab and Python.
I recently wrote a paper titled "Snowflake Patterns in Artificial Emotions for use in Robotic Applications" for a robotic ethics course.
While taking a CAD class in the fall 2016 semester I had to create 2 CAD models which I chose to be VINCENT from the 1979 Disney thriller The Black Hole and Brains from Transformers.

Expertise in RoboticsVice President of the UAH AUVSI Student Chapter. Responsible for leading the technical side of the post, including management of robot competition teams, to ensuring all incoming students have the opportunity to expand their knowledge on autonomous systems.
Senior Mechanical Engineering Advisor to the UAH Electric Vehicle Club. I oversee and advise all mechanical development from CAD frame design to precise manufacturing and implementation.
Autonomous, Project Manager, Senior AdvisorI am a design engineer with a passion for implementing robotic designs that nobody could ever dream off. When I view nature or various art pieces I can image robotic concepts from within them. My blog is where you can view my robot dreams, concepts, designs, and experiences. I have many new ideas and adventures coming soon, so stay tuned!
